The 62nd Annual Philadelphia Writers’ Conference will take place on Friday, June 11th through Sunday, June 13th at the Holiday Inn at Fourth and Arch Streets in downtown Philadelphia.
This year’s theme is: Your Writing Stimulus Package.
Our keynote speaker is author and Wall Street Journal columnist, Jeffrey Zaslow.
In 2009, Zaslow was the author or co-author of three New York Times bestsellers: The Last Lecture (with Randy Pausch), now in 46 languages; Highest Duty (with Captain “Sully” Sullenberger); and The Girls from Ames. Zaslow will be donating his speakers’ fee to Pancreatic Cancer research.
The opening session speaker will be Larry Kane, the prominent journalist, commentator, news anchor and author of three books, Ticket to Ride, Philadelphia, and most recently, Lennon Revealed, a New York Times and Los Angeles Times Bestseller.
The conference features several three-day workshops, including Short Story, Magazine Writing, Poetry, Memoir, Juvenile, Novel, Screenwriting, Mystery, Juvenile, and Nonfiction Book. Other topics include Travel, Legal Rights, Marketing, and Website Development. Among this year’s speakers are Will Bunch, Bill Reed, Karen E. Quinones Miller, and Katherine Ramsland. The conference includes opportunities to pitch your book to agents and editors.
Past speakers at the conference have included Pearl Buck, James Michener, Jennifer Weiner, Michael Smerconish, Larry Platt, Chris Satullo, Jane Eisner, Mark Bowden, and Rachel Simon.

Cost for the conference is $225 plus the cost of the optional Friday buffet and Saturday banquet.
